Work Package 8:

Community Film-Making and Social Media Campaign

Youth participation and voice are central to Project SAMA.

Led by Leeds Centre for World Cinemas and Digital Cultures, we will support young people to create three short films (in Year 1 of Project SAMA) on:

  • experiences and risks around adolescent emotional well-being

  • the potential for school to affect emotional well-being

  • solutions to safeguard adolescent’s well-being

The films created by the young people will be used for WP1-4 engagement, education, advocacy, and impact. They will also be screened to the community and various stakeholder events to promote shared understanding and solutions and will form the basis of social media campaigns in Year 3. The aim of the campaigns are to raise awareness and openness about adolescent emotional well-being in India and to target policy makers to hear the perspectives of young people in youth-related policy.
