Implementing best practice – how can we really help?

Join us for a seminar on ‘Implementing best practice - how can we really help?’

About this event

The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, NIMHANS (India) and the University of Leeds (UK) jointly host this seminar brought to you by Project SAMA.

Date: Tue 16th November

Time: 9:30am-11:00am GMT / 3:00pm-4:30pm IST

Venue: Online

Cost: Free of charge

Why do so many school programs and initiatives start but go nowhere? It is very often because they are not implemented effectively. If you are a researcher or commissioner and you are involved in the implementation of a school program, implementation science might be able to help. It can help you understand the key barriers to implementation within school settings and then guide the development of appropriate implementation strategies. This seminar will explain what implementation is, why it can be so difficult to implement school programs, and how we can make the best implementation strategies to help us obtain expected results. We’ll work through some real life examples where we apply implementation science to a school setting. We will also be covering what needs to happen once implementation starts including the importance of ongoing adaptation, and human relationships. We'll finish by working through how Project SAMA will be building and using an implementation framework to boost the landing of our interventions in schools in Karnataka.

Book your tickets here.

Who should attend: This event is ideal for both researchers and commissioners involved in the delivery of a school program.
