The National Youth Wind Ensemble of Scotland was conceived in 1972 as providing an opportunity of performing wind band music at a National level. The general thrust of the courses is to create a fun and instructive platform for young players who wish to expand and extend their musical experiences. The Course caters for wind, brass and percussion players from age 13 to 21 years with a minimum of Grade 4 playing standard. All players will be coached by experienced professional players and teachers. An eclectic mixture of entertaining and established repertoire will be rehearsed during the course and performed in a concert at the school on Saturday 7 August. In addition to the musical activities, the course will include a full social programme consisting of a ceilidh, a disco, a talent show and supervised sporting activities.
